Hi everyone, finally I'm back again to update my blog after missing for almost 8 months.

I guess you all must be very curious what I had been done for the past 8 months.
Don't worry, I will tell you guys 1 by 1.

My last post was updated until I became an Assistant Flying Instructor in MFA.
Actually, I resigned as an AFI on 3th of January. I got called up by Transmile Air for accessment test and interview when I was an AFI in MFA. I managed to passed the test and also interview. I prefer to become an airlines pilot than an instructor. So at the end I decided to breach the bond with MFA and joined Transmile Air.

There are 2 fleets in Transmile, which is B727-200F and B737-200ADV. I choosen B737-200ADV because I prefer to fly 2 men crew aircraft. I did my ground school in Transmile Centre for about 3 months from Jan to March. After that we were sent to Jakarta Sri Wijaya training centre for B737-200 simulator. I did my endorsement flight on B737-200ADV on April then I started my line training. I was cleared on mid of July and became a fully operational crew. So now I'm an official Air Postman.

Basically thats what happened to me for the past 8 months.

Hello ladies and gentlemenm,

I'm back to update this blog again.

Nothing much I want to update... Just little bit about my life as an assistant
flying instructors.

I have done AFI course and passed my AFI test in November. After that, I went on leave until my license is endorsed by DCA. Roughly around 12 days and I started instructing on 8th of December.

Captain Jhick (CFI) has assigned 12 students under me. Half of them are on ground school and half of them are on flying phase. So, I only have around 6 students can fly with. Some of them are very good in both flying and procedures. Some of them with 120 hours but still can't maintain straight and level. Other than that, there are some of them can't even absorb what you are teaching. Being an instructor is not easy at all. Seriously HEADACHE...

Assistant Flying Instructor Course in MFA

Reported myself to Malaysian Flying Academy on 20th September. There are total of 4 students in my batch. They are Mr.Muurali from Batch A16, Mr.Karamjeet A18, Mr.Nicholas Leong A20 and myself A22. Basically, nothing much for the first day. We signed our contract infront of MFA registrar and briefed by MFA CI Captain Steve Terry about our course and schedule. So now I'm officially bonded with MFA for 2 years.

For the past 2 weeks we had gone through Instructional Technic classes and some ground subjects. Basically, we had learnt all this before but now we have to learn how to teach the students. It wont be easy if you get a slow learning student.

I will be under Captain Lindsey for this 2-3 months period. He will be flying with me for most of the dual flight. I hope I can be a good instructor like him. He is the most linear instructor in MFA. Most of the students wish to under him as well.

My flying phase will start on next Wednesday. Captain JK will do my COT and then I can go for SOLO again. I didn't touch the control column for around 10 months I hope I can still perform well and not rusty.

I will update my progress again from time to time...

Hi ladies and gentlemen, I'm back to update my inactive blog again.

After have been jobless for more than 8 months finally I have got a job as an Assistant Flying Instructor in Malaysian Flying Academy. I have to gone through some ground classes, flying and tests before I can become an official AFI. I will be bonded with MFA. So I have to work for them for 2 years time before I can quit else I have to compensate them a big amount of money.

At the beginning I was quite hesitate whether want to be an AFI or not. But now I can say loudly "I really desperate and need the job very much." I'm just 21 years old I still got plenty of time. 2 years is not a big deal. At least now I can continue flying and keep intact with aviation field rather than sitting on ground being a teller in Bank.

My AFI course will start on 20th September. I will be staying in Malacca for another 2 years. I hope my training will goes smoothly and airlines will offer me a job 2 years later.

The Days of Being Jobless...

From the day I got my license until today I officially graduated for 161 days that means I jobless for more than 5 months. Actually I have a lot of things didn't update to this blog. I always hope my next update will be a good news which is I got an offer from airlines. But I'm wondering when it will comes.

This will be a simplified version of what I had done for past few months.

21/02/2010 - I'm officially 21 years old. I celebrated it by opening a birthday party in my house. Special thank you to those who attended to my birthday party and sorry to those who were not been invited.

25/03/2010 - My partnerships company officially registered in Malaysia named My Hobby House (http://www.myaviationshop.com/). Partnerships with Kai Mun, Alex Yap and Yu Hang. We import aircraft models from oversea and sell it in Malaysia. We are the only Phoenix Model distributor in Malaysia. For aircraft model collectors you can visit to our website to see what models we are having now.

31/4/2010 - Malaysian Flying Academy Graduation Ceremony. I had been recognized as "Best Student in Aviation Subjects" and "Best Overall Student" by Malaysian Flying Academy. I hope this 2 awards will help me to get job easier and faster.

06/05/2010 - First day working in Public Bank Banting. Until today I had been working there for 2 weeks plus. I get to know Miss Public Bank which is my trainer Ah Tan, Blurblur Princess Ah Ong, Dreaming Queen Joey, SotSot Ou Yian, The best officer Ah Choo and more... I'm really happy over there and learnt a lot of things. But that is not my main field. My ambition is to be a pilot. My passion is to fly up high. I will leave there anytime when I get a job offer from Airlines. I hope my PBB colleagues will remember me forever. Its really nice to be with you all. Thank you very much.

Singapore AirShow 2010

Again I'm back to update my dead blog after 1 month. I went to Singapore AirShow on 5th February with group of friends by Jetstar Asia Airways. The air tickets were RM0 I only paid RM121 for the taxes and $21 for entrance ticket. We went there and came back on same day. We experienced 2 airlines' aircraft on same day. Which were Valuair and also Jetstar because Valuair already acquired by Jetstar. Valuair A320 seats' leg room is much more bigger compare to Jetstar, but the seats are abit old.

I felt that Singapore AirShow 2010 is much more better compare to LIMA 2009 in both flying display and also aircraft display. They had Airbus Industrie A330-200F and also Garuda Boeing 737-800 for display. While, LIMA 2009's biggest aircraft display was just MASwings' ATR 72-500. I had snapped few hundred photos. I have graduated for 60 days and got my license for 31 days, but I'm still jobless here. I had submitted my resumes to most of the airlines in Malaysia, but well I don't think I will get respond in this short period. I really hope I can get an airline job as soon as possible.

I really got no idea what to update again now. I think I will not update my blog so often until I get a job.

I will update again if I have any news about my future and career.

LIMA 2009

Attended to LIMA on 5th of December with my batchmates, seniors and some friends. Frankly speaking, LIMA 2009 seriously made me very dissapointed. Even Thunderbirds show also better than LIMA 2009. We were hoping to see formation flight but, there were only ONE MAN SHOW. I hope LIMA 2011 will be better else I promise myself I wont go to LIMA again.

The only part that made me felt happy was visited to MAS Boeing 737-400 cockpit, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency Bombardier CL 415MP cockpit and also AirAsia Airbus A320 cockpit. First time stepped into big aircraft's cockpit. Holding the control column and throttle and wondering when I can fly this aircraft. I hope my chance will come as soon as possible.

Good Bye MFA...

Still remembered I joined MFA last year 9th June with zero flying knowledge and zero flying experience. After 17 months and 16 days which is last Wednesday I managed to finished my Piloting course at MFA and rewarded a Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating. 17 months and 16 days are neither long nor short. I experienced alot of things in that period. Difficulties, happiness, sadness and anger. Well, human are meant to grow by going through the difficulties. I know I still have long way to go, but yet I had done first part of my career. I will work harder for my better future.

Hi Ladies and Gentlemen~ I'm back again. Just finished my Instrument Rating Test few days back. Before the test I couldn't sleep well and kept thinking of it. Ar well, I already done it and got an "A". I'm satisfied with the grade I got. I hope my instructor will proud of me too.

I have collected few extra hours for Twin Engines. So I decided to go WMKP (Penang) with my instructor. We flew there yesterday crusing at 10,000feet and I had 2 passengers on board they were Andy and Thurai, both of them are my batchmates. First time stepped to WMKP I was so excited. Initially we taxied our aircraft to B747 Parking bay. Well, that was our first time landed at that aerodrome of course we didn't know where to park the aircraft, but still the ATC leaded us to another parking bay which is for small aircrafts. We had Kenny Rogers as our lunch there treated by my instructor Captain Usman Khan. Thank You very much Sir.

On the way back we were cruising at 9,000feet and we used different airways. Initially, we decided to do an ILS approach at WMKI (Ipoh) but at the end we didn't do it because we were short of time. So we just go overhead at 9,000feet and came back to WMKM.

So far I had clocked total 194 hours 15 minutes. Another 5 hours and 45 minutes to go. Will be doing 4 hours night flying next week. Expected to graduate after night flying. I hope next Mon, Tues and Wed night weather will be very good so that I can finish my night flying and leave MFA.

Sorry my dear readers... almost 1 month I never updated my blog I'm not in mood to update my blog, but well I will update my flying progress today. Basically, I have clocked 17 hours 25 minutes in Piper Seneca 3. Thats mean I have 17 hours 35 hours to go. I have done my Twin Engine type rating test which is PT6 at around 10 hours of GH flights, other than that I have 3 hours of instrument flying and also 3 hours of Airways flying. Expected to finish everything by end of November, but well~ I didn't fly for more than 1 week. MFA giving priority to seniors, because some of them are really left behind compare to my batchmates.

Hope I can finish it quickly and get a nice job. Which ever come first I'll take. I will not be choosy.

After planned for few days finally I have chance to go watch Thunderbirds at RMAF Subang Airbase. The show was on last Saturday, I went there with Ju Lian, Alex and his brothers. The traffic on that day was really alot. We faced a very serious traffic jam. We stucked in the traffic jam for around 2 hours.

Yesterday, I went to spotting aircraft at WMKK with group of friends, they are Ju Lian, En.Mazlan, Hafiq and Seah. This spotting can consider is the most happiest spotting I ever been before. We had snapped alot wide body aircraft and also my own emo pictures.

After spotting we went to Bagan Lalang for some seafoods. It was a fantastic dinner which treated by En.Mazlan. All of us eaten alot actually. Must thanks En.Mazlan for the delicious dinner. Looking forward for another meal. Haha...

I had changed my blog's template 2 days back and added some new widgets. I guess this new look will let the readers have different impression on my blog and of course easier to read. For your information if you are using Internet Explorer to browse my blog the pictures at slide column will not move, for Mozilla Firefox user you wont see the pictures at all and for Google Chrome user you can browse my blog perfectly without any problem.

Until today my blog is around 1 year and 10 months old near to 2 years. I had posted more than 100 posts here. I read back some very old posts just now. I realised my english was really terrible, how could I posted with that kind of english? I know at this time my english is still not good enough, but I guess I had improved compare to previous time.

Update on my flying side. So far I had clocked 156 hours 35 minutes. 8 hours 25 minutes Single Engine to go before I can enter Multi Engine Phase. If everything go smoothly I most properly will join ME phase the week after Raya.

Farewell Party...

We had a Barbeque Farewell party for our best friends Oprah and Ying Fui on last Sunday. They are going to continue their studies in Taiwan. Oprah is my secondary school friend we know each other for around 8 years and I knew Ying Fui since I was standard 1 thats mean we know each other for almost 14 years. Actually, all of us are not willing to apart with them, but studies are more important compare to others. I'm here wishing both of you good luck and all the best in your studies. Again... I didn't update my blog for quite sometimes. Very sorry about that. I was busy with my Navigation flight. Everyday standby and try to get slot for Navigation. Until today I finished Navigation Progress Test and General Handling Progress Test. Both also with satisfactory result. So far, I had clocked total of 140 hours 10 minutes and I'm going for Instrument Flying Progress Test on next week which is my last Progress Test for Single Engine. Hope I can do it well. Can't wait to join twin engine.

I had few visitors who are Royal Selangor Flying Club members flew a Cessna C172 Single Engine aircraft registration 9M-RFC from Simpang Airport to WMKM to visit me and MFA yesterday. They reached WMKM at around 10.50am they parked their aircraft at main terminal, then I drove them from Main Terminal to MFA.

After an hour I drove them back to main terminal again. I went into the terminal with them. I was shocked when I saw arrivals and departures information at LCD screen. Since when MAS and Airasia aircraft land here? The worst part is Arrival and Departures from/to Tokyo, Thailand and London. After that a policewoman told me actually there are some shotting going on. They made fake display because most of the time WMKM airport's departures and arrivals screen are EMPTY except 1 Riau from Pekan Baru.

Jaison and Ju Lian please come Malacca again next time and please stay over night here so we have more time to lepak together.

WMKK 14R...

When I was on the way back from Malacca to my home yesterday, I saw an aircraft on final approach to land at KLIA, it was an Airbus A330. I kept staring at the aircraft and it inspired me, at last I decided to go spotting aircraft at Meteorology Station for a while. On that time Runway 14R was in use for departures.

I saw a special incident which I never seen before. A MAS Boeing 737-400 on rolling at around 6.20pm when at VR (Rotate) speed I believe because the nose wheel is not on ground anymore out of sudden BOOM... It seems like something exploded and got some smoke came out from left side near to left engine. The pilots took immediate action. They rejected takeoff and taxi out from the runway. On that time I didn't know what is happening I assumed the aircraft's landing gear burst. I didn't manage to snap the incident's picture because I get bored of snapping 737 so I wasn't in ready condition, but I had snapped few pictures that MAHB workers picking up something that left by the MAS Boeing 737-400 on runway (It seems like tyre's rubber). I went off in a short while after the incident. When I came back I copied all the pictures from my memory card to my computer. I zoomed the pictures and look clearly, it is not tyre rubber, it looked like a BIRD... so it was bird strike or landing gear burst... you judge by yourself from the pictures.

Recently, my flying phase stucked due to bad weather. I didn't fly for quite some time. So what I usually do is just sleep, eat and online, don't know how long more I need to go through this kind of boring life.

I hope I can update my blog everyday, but I really got no idea what to update... So today I just simply picked up a topic to keep my blog alive. I mentioned at previous post I have bought a new phone Nokia N97, its my 7th phones. From the day I start using handphone until now I have changed total of 7 phones. Guess what phones I used before? All are Nokia phones. I'm a loyal Nokia supporter although the price drop very fast but I still like the style and functions. Models I used before as follow...

After worried for more than 1 week, finally I got my CA2 result on last Friday. Before I got the result I promised to myself I will get myself a new phone Nokia N97 if I passed both subjects, but if I failed I will just forget about the phone. Fortunately, I passed both subjects. So on the same day I bought Nokia N97 which cost me RM2300.

I would like to say congratulation to those who passed, those who failed please don't sad, try harder next time. All the best to you.

My First Night Flying~

After anticipated for quite some time, finally they scheduled me for night flying yesterday. That was my first night flying in my life and it was a dual flight. The instructor who flew with me was Captain Lindsey, he is one of the senior instructor in MFA. We have done normal Landing, normal landing without landing light, flapless landing without landing light and normal landing with total electrical failure. I was quite satisfied with my 1st night flying. I felt I did it quite well. Of course I never forgot to say Thank You to Captain Lindsey for teaching me so much of things about night flying.

After long days of anticipation and curiosity, I finally had the opportunity to visit Jouvarn's (a MAS pilot) DIY flight simulator in his Klang house yesterday. This master piece baby of his cost approximately *gasp!* RM30,000. It was a nice experience, I'm looking forward to go his house again.

Finally, we finished our ground school in MFA. The only thing we are worrying now is our CA2 result. Performance A was really tough. Most of us are on bother line, we don't know we pass or fail. The feeling is totally different with the moment we finished CA6. I always nightmare this few days. I don't think I'll have a nice sleep until the result come out. I hope all of us will pass our CA2 exams.

Nav 12 Completed...

Finally completed Nav 12 after canceled for 7 times due to bad weather. Nav 12 and Nav 10's routes are same the only different is dual and solo. I did a touch and go at WMSA after that back to WMKM again. After refueled and taken my lunch I continued my 2nd part of my Nav 12. I did a full stop landing at WMKJ. I met one of my friend who studying at KLIFA over there, he brought me walk around at WMKJ's terminal and also KLIFA. I have snapped few pictures with a jumbo Boeing 747 over there. Other than that, I met one of my friend from ITNS also. He is an instructor at ITNS. He flew Cirrus SR20 from Subang to WMKJ with 2 students via East Coast and back via West Coast. The Cirrus SR20 is really nice the aircraft is much bigger than Piper Warrior at MFA. I have snapped the Cirrus SR20 also. I have clocked total 97 hours after this Nav. 3 hours to go before 100 hours... I scheduled to do Nav 11 tomorrow which is from WMKM to Subang. Hopefully, tomorrow's weather will be good.

MFA A22/2008 First Anniversary

Time really does fly by. 9th June 2009 MFA Batch A22/2008 has just celebrated its one year anniversary. We went out for dinner together at Pak Putra. All of us appeared on that day except our good friend Fareez. Fareez we are really miss you very much. Hope to see you back again soon.

We had gone through alot of hard time together. Still remembered the first day we came to MFA can say we don't know anything, but now we learnt alot of things and applied it in our flying. We passed most of the examinations together and clocked more than 80 hours. I wont forget this momment for the rest of my life. Although most of them always bully me. haha...

Other than that, I would like to take this chance to say sorry to those who I unintentionally offended before. As closing I wish everyone in A22 all the best and good luck in our last 2 ground papers in MFA (UKCAA2).

Finally I completed my Nav 10 on last Friday. Nav 10 is the longest Nav I ever done before. I did it with Capt Sandor. He is not my instructor actually, but he willing to fly with me, so I would like to say thank you and also congratulation to him because he just promoted from an AFI to QFI. I hope he don't mind to do Nav 13 with me again. He is a very good and particular instructor. I learnt alot of things from him, especially listen to ATIS. Honestly, I never tune to ATIS's frequency before until I fly with him.

Nav 10's routes are WMKM - Terendak - Cape Ricardo - Tanjung Sepat - Morib - Port Klang - WMSA - Port Klang - Morib - Tanjung Sepat - Cape Ricardo - Terendak - WMKM - Muar - Batu Pahat - Benut - Kulai - WMKJ - Kulai - Benut - Batu Pahat - Muar - WMKM. Total flight time we used is 4 hours and 40 minutes. We landed at WMSA and had our lunch there before we depart back to WMKM. This was first time I did full stop landing at other aerodrome than WMKM. Its very impressive. Thanks again to Captain Sandor.

After this Nav 10, I have clocked 90 hours. Tomorrow I'm doing Nav 12 same route as Nav 10, but solo. Hopefully I can reach 100 hours by next week. When you reach 100 hours and above MFA flight operations will program you for night flying. I'm really anticipating that momment. Night Flying I'm coming....

Spotting at WMKK again~

Hi everyone... Today, I went to spotting aircraft at WMKK again. I have been spotting there for 3 times, but every time with different people. Today, I went there with my big boss Ju Lian, Encik Mazlan and Chek. Ju Lian is a Cessna 172 Pilot from Royal Selangor Flying Club, Encik Mazlan is Cirrus SR20 Pilot from ESB Flying club and Chek is Malaysia Airforce Engineer. Anyway, today is first time I meeting them in real life. Really nice to meet you all and thank you Encik Mazlan for the fried rice at KLIA's Food Garden. Hope can meet you all again soon.

Last time I was thinking a professional photographer should use Manual Focus to snap pictures so all this while I used Manual Focus to snap pictures until someone told me that actually for spotting aircraft we are not suppose to use Manual Focus we should use Auto Focus. While air travel can be quite an adventure, there are those who simply fear flying. What are the factors which contribute to safety in the air?

IN THE FIRST HALF OF LAST
century, when airports were manually operated and aeroplanes were propeller-driven, air travel was quite an adventure. The aerodromes, as they were called in those days, were exciting and exotic places in themselves. The deafening roar of engines, the flashing lights on the tarmac, the serious-looking uniformed staff, and the general sense of urgency; all combined to give air travel a vague sense of adventure, derring-do and even an exciting hint of danger.

The relatively unsophisticated aeroplanes of those days and the mechanical navigation instruments meant that commercial travel was often affected by very basic factors like the weather and even geography of the routes being covered. In those days, people usually flew only because they had to, usually for education or relocation to a distant foreign land. Commercial flight was considered an expensive and somewhat risky business. Leisure travel by air was mainly for people who were affluent adventurous and brave.

In this millennium, however things are totally different! Commercial flight is an ordinary feature of daily life. Millions of people fly regularly for business, education, leisure or social reasons. Large jet-liners and advanced technology make air travel routine, uneventful and even boring, at times. Airports are becoming glitzy destinations in their own right with shopping malls, restaurants, gardens and entertainment included in their facilities. People are more concerned about comfort on the planes than anything else.

In our modern context of flight, safety is taken for granted, and in fact, air travel is one of the safest forms of transport. Many more lives are lost every day from motorcycle accidents and car crashes around the world than from mishaps involving aircrafts. However, some people still have a phobia about flying and frequently ask questions to reassure themselves. Often, the questions themselves can be wrong, as the answers to these examples illustrate.

Who is actually responsible for safety - the airline or the government?
There isn't one single entity that is supposed to 'cover all the bases'. Many experts say that commercial airlines have the ultimate responsibility for the safety of their passengers, although the government agencies have the responsibility of setting and enforcing standards. An airline is supposed to safely transport its passengers from one destination to another. To do this, they focus on two areas: aircraft maintenance and aircraft operations. Airlines are continuously working with their maintenance teams, flight crews, aircraft manufacturers and government agencies to improve safety and performance

How do airlines ensure safety?
No one can 'ensure' safety, but airlines work very hard to prevent mishaps. They have maintenance programmes for each type of aircraft they operate, developed jointly with manufacturers such as Boeing, Embraer or Airbus, and approved by the regulatory government agencies in countries where the airline operates. An airline's maintenance programme specifies the intervals at which specific aircraft and engine-parts will be inspected. The maintenance centres that perform inspections and repair work must be certified by the government and be open inspection at all times. Records of maintenance work on an aircraft are carefully maintenance and subject to government inspection. For every hour that an aeroplane is in flight, technicians and engineers spend about three to four hours working to maintain it. Each maintenance programme involves a series of complex inspection and maintenance procedures, depending on various factors such as an aircraft's flying time, age, or number of landings and takeoffs. The goal is to achieve completed safety at all times.

Does computer technology improve safety?
This in another wrong question if it implies that computers are the perfect prescription for safety. Computers do have their powerful advantages in maintenance, surveillance, detection and warning; but they are never a substitute for human vigilance. Ideally, computer technology and human expertise complement each other. Between the scheduled maintenance checks by humans, for example, computers onboard the aircraft monitor the performance of its systems and record such things as abnormal temperatures and fuel and oil consumption. In newer aircraft, this data is transmitted to ground stations while the plane is in flight. However, it is the people on the ground and on the aircraft that determine how much computer technology contributes to safety.

Which aircraft type is safest?
Every single passenger aircraft has been designed with safety as the foremost criteria. Large or small, jet or propeller, the question is not of type but of maintenance and operation. Just like a car, any aircraft is as good as the people operating and maintaining it. With the exception of some Low Cost Carriers that work with the limits set by their own manufacturers and insurance companies, most conventional airlines strictly adhere to the regulations of the International Air Travel Association (IATA) and International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) which ensure that safety is so strict, you can take it for granted!

Where should I sit to be safest?
Just like a car, it is not where you sit but what you do in an emergency that determines your level of safety. The safety procedures presented before the start of every flight are not for fun ? they are for a serious purpose and should be given full attention every time you fly. Make it a point to read the Safety Instruction Card in your seat pocket. Each aircraft is different, as models and airlines configurations may differ widely. If you listen carefully to the safety presentation and can follow the instructions confidently when required, you have already made the biggest step in ensuring your safety. In my opinion, the most serious threats to safety often come from irresponsible passengers who use hand-phones, quietly light a cigarette or move about the aircraft when they should not. If you care about life and death, report them!

What kind of weather is safest to fly in?
Again, just as with land-based transport, this is not a practical question as millions of passengers take off, fly and land safely every day in hot sunshine, pouring rain, strong winds, falling snow, dust storms, sleet, drought and every other conceivable type of weather. Even air pockets that cause frightening bucking and tossing of aircraft are relatively harmless when you consider that millions of air travellers experience such turbulence without mishaps or accidents. In really bad weather, the airlines, like bus companies and train services, will cancel or delay trips. Airports, airlines, aircraft personnel and weather stations are all working together for maximum safety at all times, so don?t waste time worrying about the weather!

What should I do to be safest?
First of all, dress comfortably and sensibly. Clothing that is too tight, or accessories that are clumsy can be problematic if an emergency occurs, and just uncomfortable if it doesn't. Teetering high-heels or pin-sharp stiletto shoes are also not really helpful in an emergency. Secondly, keep to hand-luggage limits. Overweight and oversized luggage in the passenger cabin is a real threat to everyone's safety. Thirdly, eat and drink sensibly. Drunk and disorderly aircraft passengers can be a real safety hazard, but nauseous or sick air travellers can be a serious problem as well. Finally, simple relax and enjoy your flight. A happy and relaxed passenger is the safest kind of person to fly with!

I have joined Flydamnit forum for more than 2 years, started from a normal member then a thread's moderator and go on to a Global Moderator. I organised Flydamnit first gathering and the gathering was held on 1st of May at Kenny Rogers Roasters, Sunway Pyramid. From the name list I got there were 20 person are coming, but at the end only 10 person came to the gathering. Althought it only have 10 person but we really had fun. We get to share some knowledges and experiences. There were MAS pilot, AirAsia Instructor, AirAsia pilot, Pilot wannabes, FA wannabes and of course me MFA's cadet. After I finished my Nav 5 yesterday I cleared for solo Nav 6 and Nav 7. MFA flight operations programmed me for Nav 6 today. I heard from some seniors Nav 6 can consider is one of the most difficult Nav. Many people get lost. Luckily, I able to finished it and came back safely. Nav 6's routes are WMKM --> Bahau --> Segamat --> Labis --> Yong Peng --> Benut --> Batu Pahat --> Bakri Airstrip --> WMKM. I took off at 9.45am flying at 2000 feet. Malacca tower asked me to call Lumpur Information when I was abeam to Tampin. I switched my frequency to 126.1 Lumpur Info "Lumpur Info this is Academy 353 on 126.1 how do you read me" no one reply me by the time, I tried for few times still no reply. I quickly switched my frequency back to Malacca Tower 118.0 again "Malacca Tower Academy 353 negative contact with Lumpur Info" luckily I still able to remain contact with Malacca Tower. Malacca Tower asked me climb to 3000 feet and try to contact Lumpur Info again. I switched the frequency to 126.1 again after I climbed to 3000 feet. No one reply me also, after tried for few times finally someone replied me. The cloud was very thick and low between Tampin and Segamat. I was flying at 3000 feet above all the thick clouds (read properly "above" but not "into" cloud). I tried to descend below the cloud so that I can visual with the ground but when I descending from 3000 feet to 600 feet I still unable to visual with the ground all the thick clouds are infront of me. I quickly full throttle and climb back to 3000 feet. I remain flying at the heading I calculated. Half way through from Bahau to Segamat the clouds were clear then I quickly descend to 2000 feet. First thing I do when I visual with ground is refer to the map quickly. Luckily, I still on track. I didn't lost. I continued and finished Nav 6 safely.

I'm back to flying phase agian since last week. Just started my solo flight today after didn't fly for almost 4 months. I did steep turn, PFL overhead and some circuits and landings today. My steep turn is kinda bad actually. First few turns were plus minus 200 feets. Very bad right? I tried again and again until I manage to do plus minus 30 feets steep turn. After I finished steep turn, I decided to rejoin circuit for PFL overhead and some landings. I couldn't finish my PFL overhead because there was an aircraft infront of me. Anyway it was my fault, because I didn't check the traffic before I commenced PFL overhead. How about my circuits and landings then? My landings were quite OK actually, but overall I'm still not so satisfied with my flight today. My next flight is on tomorrow at 8am. I think I can do better than today.

Hi, my dearest readers. Finally I'm back again after disappered for quite some time. I never update my blog since 18th February 2009, I apologise for that. I was busy on my CA6 (Airlines Pilot Transport License Examination). I canceled my Digi EDGE/GPRS unlimited plan because of that exam. I couldn't pay attention if there is a computer with internet infront of me. I just finished the examination on 25th March, so I'm officially back to online again. Actually, there are 2 more ATPL papers still waiting for me, but I guess it wont be so tough like CA6, because its only 2 papers compare to CA6 6 papers. We probably will get the result after 2 - 3 weeks time. I really hope I can pass the exam in first attempt for my better future and I don't want to waste extra money again for resitting that exam. It cost around RM700 per papers, not a small amount. Once again I would like to say thank you to those who helped me and wished me. Especially to a senior from A21 Charles, my roommate Kin Meng, a girl who always help me and force me to study and a lot more... Sorry if I didn't mention some of your name over here. It might make the readers bored if I write down all the names.

Happy Chap Goh Meh and Chinese Valentine to everyone. For those who are still single I wish you can get a boy/girl friend as soon as possible and for those who are already dating now wish you have a sweet moment with your lover.

Chap Goh Mei represents the fifteenth and final day of the Lunar New Year period as celebrated by Chinese migrant communities meaning you won't get to receive anymore angpows from relatives and friends. The term is from the Hokkien dialect and refers to the fifteenth day of the first month, which is the occasion of the first full moon of the New Year. It's another important day to celebrate for Chinese.

On this day, young single woman will throw mandarin oranges into the sea hoping that her future husband will pick it up. Of course, she has to write her name and hp number on the mandarin oranges so that the man who picked it will be able to contact her to start up with the courtship.

Other than that, Chap Goh Mei is my Birthday also in Chinese Calender, but most of the time I celebrate my birthday according to english calender. I hoping that this is my 1st and last time I passing my Chinese Birthday in MFA.

Happy Chinese New Year and Gong Hei Fatt Choi to all my family, relatives, friends and others...

I apologise for my late wishes. I was quite busy on First and second day of Chinese New Year by visiting my relatives and some best friends. I only have 4 days holiday including Saturday and Sunday. Saturday and Sunday were not Chinese New Year so I couldn't visit my friends on this 2 days. Mean that I only left 2 days Monday and Tuesday. I drove back to Malacca on Wednesday 3rd day of Chinese New Year at 5.30am, because my class starts at 8am. Alot of people asked me go to their house, but I really cannot make it I got not enough time. I apologise again if I never go to your house this year maybe I can make it next year. Most of my friends have 9 days holiday (including Sat and Sun) and some of them have 16 days. I'm quite jealous them actually. But whatever it is I just hope I wont be in MFA again for next year Chinese New Year.

Hi ladies and gentlemen. Sorry again for seldom update my blog. I have been sicked for past 2 weeks. I have got Chikungunya. What is Chikungunya? Search it at google or wikipedia you definately will get alot information about that disease. Basically, it's another mosquito disease. My mother was the first one who got it 1st continue by my father then me. Because of Chikungunya I have lost 6 kgs. Is that a good news? haha... I got no appetite to eat at all. I just drink water and eat some bread only during that 2 weeks time.

I missed alot of classes. Really scare I can't cacth up. Have to work harder now, but currently I'm in Chinese New Year mood can't really pay attention study in class also. So what I can do is work hard after Chinese New Year.

Another good news for you all. Finally, I have got my Private Pilot License and I have transformed from a Student Pilot (White Bar) to Private Pilot License Holder (Red Bar). So now I can bring passengers, but without any charges and restricted to Piper Warrior PA28-161 only.

The green book is Student Pilot License, brown book is Private Pilot License. Now looking forward for blue book (Comercial Pilot License/Instrument Rating).

Sorry for long time didn't update my blog. I'm quite busy recently. I have gone back to ground school preparing for United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority Examination. So I might not updating my blog so frequent for this 3 months. This is 4th weeks I gone back to ground school. I have taken 8 class tests. There is another test again tomorrow. I felt very stress now. Everyday every period got new things to learn. I'm not so smart so that I have to do revision every night. Slowly my entertainment time has become lesser and lesser. I really hope I can pass all the papers in first attempt. Thanks for those who always teach and guide me when I'm not understand. I will try my best to pass it.

Private Pilot License Progressive Test...

I have just done my PPL PT. I know most of my friends will ask me how was the test? Pass or Fail? Anyway, I got no idea I pass or fail now. I did a lot of mistakes. What kind of mistakes?

First - I taxi the aircraft without clearance from Malacca Ground, but just for 2 sec then I suddenly realise that and request clerance immediately.

Second - Steep Turn, I did all the checks. Right clear, straight clear and left clear, but I miss out "left behind clear" and "right behind clear". I never do this 2 checks before so I don't know about this.

Third - RT call. From beginning I requested to go R239-A1, but I changed to R239-B due to low cloud in R239-A1. After I established R239-B I did 1st part of my exercise after that Captain CK request change to R239-A5 for basic instruments test. When I finished basic instruments test in R239-A5 he told me again we are in R239-A5 he asked me to request back for PFL Overhead, but during the RT call I mentioned wrongly, I told the Tower we are in R239-B.

For this moment I only remember this 3 mistakes I did. I will update again after Captain CK brief me. Might have more mistakes which I didn't realise.

I have just done my Navigation Intro today, from WMKM (Malacca Airport) - Tampin - Tangkak - Pt. Sulong - Muar - WMKM. It took around 1 hour and 10 minutes. What is Navigation? Navigation is the process of reading, and controlling the movement of an aircraft or vehicle from one place to another.

What we must do before our navigation flight? Firstly, we must fill up a flight plan and fax it to Tower before 30minutes from your flight time for local flight and before 1 hour for international flight. Next, we must prepare map, flight log, stop watch, diversion ruler and a pen along with us. Why we need a map? We must refer from ground to map and map to ground to make sure we are on track. I will roughly explain what is flight log. Flight log is for us to record our destination, track, distance, ground speed, heading, set course time, estimate elapse time, estimate time arrival, actual time of arrival and etc... Why we need to record all this? Its because we need to know and clear what time we will reach our destination and what heading we should turn after that. So that flight log is very important for every navigation flight. This is what navigation basically about.

New hostel...

I have just shifted to new hostel last thursday. Its quite nice actually and feeling like staying in hotel, but got no privacy because its twin sharing. It attached bathroom also, thats the only advantage in new hostel. Moreover, we are paying RM1400 (RM700 per person) per month for this small room. Its very expensive. I can get a 3 rooms full furnished house behind MFA for just RM350 - RM450.

First Solo...

When I finished 12 sorties my instructor told me you are ready for solo check. Start from next sortie will be your solo check. Sorties 13 my first time solo check, I guess because of I was too nervous I screwed up everything. So my instructor told me he can not clear me for first solo. On sorties 14 I tried to relax myself and kept telling myself I can do it. I believe I can fly. Finally I succeed. I did 3 hard but safe landing. So that my instructor cleared me for first solo. We requested for full stop landing and taxied to Main Apron. After that my instructor went off from the aircraft. That was first time I'm the only one in aircraft. I felt excited and nervous. I kept sweating all the way. After I did Power Checks, I started the journey of my first solo flight.

I taxied to Main Apron. My instructor was waiting me at main apron. He get up to the aircraft and said my landing was scary, then I felt a bit sad. Suddenly, he took out his hand and said Han well done. I don't know how to describe the feeling. Suddenly cold suddenly hot.

After I picked him up at Main Apron, I taxied back to MFA. Captain Kumeran asked me to take a bucket of water and shower myself. MFA's tradition for those who has done their first solo. By the time I felt a bit curious and I was thinking supposely other people shower me instead of I shower myself right? But after that I still followed my instructor's instruction. I showered myself. Sound a bit stupid right?

It was a nice experience. I wont forget my first solo for the rest of my life.

Yesterday, I followed Captain Roberto and his student Veejay do Navivation from Malacca to Johor Senai International Airport, touch and go back to Malacca. They past by Muar, Batu Pahat and Benut to Senai Airport. Captain Roberto taught me how to recognise all the places, because I will use it in the future when I do my Navigation. Sorry for long time didn't update my blog. I don't know what to update and I'm lazy to update also. Haha...

Its already 1 month I started flying phase. I only clocked 6 hours, learnt quite alot of things. I can consider is the slowest among all my batchmates. Its not because of I not good, its not because of I don't like to fly. Its because of my instructor don't like to rush. So I can't do anything also, but hope can get my PPL before go back to ground school.

My instructor can consider is quite strict also, but its depend on his mood. Everytime fly with him I will feel nervous and panic. Once I panic I will do alot of mistake, but I still like him, because you will not ever get bad result for your flying report.

Just know my call sign today. My call sign is Academy 374... In chinese mean 3 go die... Not a good call sign right? but we got no right to choose. Anyway, I'm not so superstition also.

What usually I will do if I don't have flight? Actually, I'm quite lazy, if I have free time I will sleep and watch movie. I will only do mental flying few hours or 1 day before my flight, but no matter how many times I practised some time I will still forgot if I panic.

Yeh... just finished DCAT 2. I passed all the tests. Although I didn't get 100 marks, but I'm quite satisfy with my result. Anyway DCAT just a piece of cake. CA6 + CA2 are much much more difficult than DCAT. For this moment, I will not think anything about CA6 1st. I will concentrate on my flying phase. My first familiarization flight is on next Monday, hopefully the weather on Monday is in good condition.

Having DCAT 2 this week. DCAT 2 total consist of 4 papers. Air Law 1, Air Law 2, Principal of Flight and Engines. I have just finished Air Law 1 and 2 today. The papers are quite confusing. I got confident I can pass the paper, but not sure can get 100% or not. Hopefully I can get 100%... Good Luck to MFA A22 students for tomorrow Principal of Flight and Engines tests.

Most probably I will start my flying phase by this week or maybe next week. I'm very anticipate for it. My flying instructor is Captain Kumaran, hopefully can have a nice flying phase with him.

Sorry for long times didn't update my blog. I'm in MFA now. Don't have internet connection here so I couldn't update my blog oftenly. I'm online at CyberCafe now. Interested to know how is my life in MFA?...

Lets start...
Monday, Wednesday, Friday compulsory to do Physical Exercise at 6.30am so must wake up at 6am. Tuesday and Thusday's Physical Exercise is on evening 6pm until 7pm, so I can wake up late abit around at 7am.

My class starting from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Moreover, we are compulsory to self practise at our classroom from 8pm to 9pm Monday to Thusday. There is a warden looking after us and take our attendent, so it is very difficult to skip self practise class.

Starting from batch A21 onward we are compulsory to stay on campus. The hostel is damn small and dirty. All the furnitures are quite old. Hopefully can move to new building as soon as possible.

I'm here for 1 week time. I still haven't get used in this kind of busy life. My life in MFA is totally different in MMU. Hopefully will get used on it soon.

I just finished my last final exam paper today. I just reached my home. I'm quite tired actually. I just slept for 3 hours yesterday, because of doing revision. So fast 1 year already. I can consider finished foundation. Is time for me to say good bye to MMU and Ixora Apartment and say Hi to Malaysian Flying Academy. Nothing much nice memorable things for me to keep it in mind in MMU. Anyway, I will never regret wasted 1 year to take foundation in MMU. I learnt alot of things there. HmM... look like left 2weeks time for me to prepare my stuffs to MFA. Finally, my dream is come true. Is it I can change my "Future Pilot" to a "Pilot" soon? HAHA...

Just finished the most difficult paper today IT Mathematic 2 aka Calculus. I have taken the test without sleep well for 2 days. Continues 2 days also have exam. I'm really very tired. So far I have finished 3 papers. I think I only will get a PASS for that 3 papers. Last minute just do revision how come can get good result right? If I can get good result in just do revision in 1 day then I think I'm super smart.

During a flight,one of the pilot is the pilot flying(PF)and the other is pilot monitoring(PM).
The PF does the departure briefing,take-off,manipulation of the mode control panel(MCP),etc and landing.It doesn't matter Captain or FO.Normally the captain delegates the FO to be PF.
Whenever the PF leaves the cockpit during flight he will say you have control,so the other guy will be the PF temporary. The other guy will say I have control.So there is a transfer of who is having control.

Or when the PF is flying manually(autopilot disenggaged),the PF wants to read his chart,adjust his seat or anything that doesn't allow him to pay full attention to the flight ,he can say you have control.
When it's ok again he can say I have controls.

The other scenario is when the PM feels that the PF is unsafe he can say I have controls.Like what you said above. Yes the FO can say that.You see, a captain is just a human.He can make mistakes too.So,you as the FO will have to overide the captain. If the flight is jeopardised.It's a hard decision to make and you got to have guts to say it. Accidents can be prevented.

Normally its the captain who says it...

Almost 1 year I didn't cook anything, because of currently I'm studying at Multimedia University that why don't have much time for me to cook. This week is MMU mid term break, so I came back to my hometown. My mother asked me to cook dinner for this few days, because cooking auntie was went to Chiang Mai. I cooked 4 dishes for today's dinner, there are choi sam with oyster sauce, sweet sour prawn, stem fish with soy sauce and last one is cabbage. My parents and my uncle praised my dishes was delicious and better than dishes cooked by cooking auntie. I think many people were unexpected I know how to cook, but the fact is I really know how to cook. For those who don't know how to cook please don't jealous me. You can learn how to cook also if you want to and if you got any questions, you are always welcome to ask me. Actually, I'm not really proffesional also, but can consider as know how to cook.

I get this article from Ashley Teng's blog. I felt this article was really meaningful and I totally agree with this article "A Broken Heart Can Only Be Cured By the One Who Breaks It". I want to share it with my friends.

A broken heart can only be healed by the one who breaks it, if this person is unwilling to heal it for you, he/she is totally irresponsible,

so in order to heal your injured heart, you have no choice but can only wait for a new created medicine from a love scientist.

Yet it takes time for the new medicine to be created, because sometimes the love scientist failed in the research.

so in between the first day of heart broken till the day new medicine is created, that has become the most painful time.

Some take days, some take months, some take years, some take forever.

so this has considered as a love crimes, this is because the heart breaker has stabbed a person's heart, causes the injuries last for some time, some even last forever.

These people has no love hospital to be admitted, where should they go? just let the blood continue dripping? wait til the new medicine is found?

isn't that we need a love police to stop these from happening?

Celebrate Sam & Teng's 1/2 year Anniversary

Last Saturday Miki, Lei Chin and me helped Sam & Teng celebrated their 1/2 year Anniversary. We went to Mahkota Parade, Dataran Pahlawan and GoGo KTV. We took our dinner at Old Town Cafe in Dataran Pahlawan. After that, we went to GoGo KTV. We went to there without make any booking. When we reached there all rooms were fully booked. We were quite dissapointed. At last we decided to wait, because maybe some people were not coming after booked the rooms. After waited for few minutes, there was a good news for us from GoGo KTV's waiter, there was a room available for us. On that time Lei Chin was very excited and scream loudly in KTV room. We sang for 5 hours from 9pm until 2am. We were mostly lost our voice. This is first time I went to KTV for 5 hours. I'm quite excited also. Lastly, I want to wish Sam & Teng will love each other until the end of their life. GOOD LUCK!!!

Yesterday was the most wonderful and meaningful birthday in my life. I could like to thank Yong Sing, Shiau Hui, La Yen and Poh Yao for celebrated my birthday with me. I blow my first birthday cake for year 2008 with them at Ixora Car Park. We have taken some pictures at Ixora Car Park.

Second round, I was unexpected Mee Kee will bought a cake and celebrated with me. Her cake is my 2nd birthday cake for year 2008. She was plan to sing birthday song to me alone at swimming pool, but because of too many people over there so we decided to ask Stanley came down to sang birthday song together at car park. I was really touched. Thank you very much my sweet sister Miki and my friend Stanley.

Another unexpected was Lei Chin will bought a small cute cake for me. Thank you very much ya.

My best friend Ying Fui has been the last one who wished me. I though he has forgotten my birthday, but according to him he said he want to became the last one who wish me and give me a big surprise.

Although I'm quite happy today, but still got a little bit disappointed, because not even have 1 of my housemate and my family member wish me happy birthday. My parents and sisters also have forgotten my birthday. Moreover, my god sister also have forgotten my birthday also.
